Year 4

Welcome to Year 4

The adults that work in our class are Mr. Barker, Mrs Storey, Mrs Batley and Mrs Jewitt.

In Year 4, we have created our own class ethos.

In Year 4, we want to ensure that everyone is always happy and that nobody ever feels unhappy within the classroom environment. To create a happy and caring working environment we will always:

  • Be honest
  • Help and support each other
  • Be polite and well-mannered to both pupils and adults
  • Use quiet voices when working
  • Look after equipment
  • Concentrate at all times
  • Be kind and not hurt each other both physically and emotionally
  • Encourage others to try new challenges
  • Be happy and reach for the stars
  • Think before you say something
  • Help people to make the correct choices
  • Be inclusive with all class members

ClassDojo is used as our main communication tool, we use this to share learning from the class and any important information, if you are having difficulty accessing the app contact school.

We use ClassDojo as our communication platform, the children love sharing snapshots of their learning and achievements. We also use this to share important updates about school so please ensure that you have access.

Homework in Year 4:
Reading: we send home new reading books every Thursday and these are returned on a Tuesday. Please use the VIPERS resources that were sent out at the start of the year to help assist your child with their reading. Please make a short comment in your child’s reading record, as this help us to assess their progress.

Maths: the children have access to Times Tables Rock Stars and weekly tasks will be set on Mathseltics.

Spellings: Spellings will be set on a Friday and to support the learning of the spelling pattern the children have access to SpellingShed.

Multiplicaiton test:
